Pitch us

The Decifer accepts pitches for original nonfiction reportage (short features and longform) from writers across South Asia.

A story for us holds a reader from first line to last. Most of our features run between the range from 2000 to 8000 words but that is not a limit.

We accept pitches for profiles, dispatches, narrative reportage, investigations, oral histories and other reported formats grounded in original work.

Briefly share vision for structure, scenes, characters, and how it will surprise readers or shift how they see something familiar.

A reporting plan should tell is how you will gather what the story needs, including sourcing and access already confirmed.
